How to get rid of internal hemorrhoids

Hemorrhoids have been a major cause of concern over many years now. Caused by imbalanced control of one’s diet, life style and sleeping habits, the disorder has been giving many people sleepless nights. The disorder can also be genetic and is also found amongst children, in women after giving birth to a child and also women suffering from premenstrual syndrome. Hemorrhoids are categorized in to two external and internal, external ones located outside the anal opening and surrounding it and the internal ones being located inside.

Internal hemorrhoids are divided in to two categories depending on their location around the anus and their formation. It has always been difficult to diagnose an internal hemorrhoid because a patient suffering from it may not come to know about its formation. The main reason being lack of pain receptors inside the anus and the sphincter muscles. The only indication could be the stool covered with blood stains because the internal ones do not cause much pain. One must always observe the shape and size of the stool passes every morning since it gives an idea of one’s health.

The inner lining of the anus and the rectum is an absorption surface for many nutrients before the stool is passed out of the body. This inner lining is very delicate and devoid of pain receptors, may get ruptured due to hard stool or straining during defecation. This friction causes blisters and hemorrhoids internally. If the internal hemorrhoid comes out of the anal opening thus changing its location, it is known as prolapsed hemorrhoid causing intense pain and itching at later stages. After coming out it may get entangled with the sphincter muscles responsible for contraction and relaxation of the anus, thus forming another severe type known as strangulated hemorrhoid. This one is associated with less blood supply to the hemorrhoid because it’s strangulated.

Getting rid of both of these kinds of hemorrhoids is simple. One can include lot of fiber in the diet by drinking fruit juices, eating vegetables, fruits and whole grains, avoiding spicy junk food, alcohol and smoking. One must ensure regular exercise every day coupled with sleeping and resting on time. This controls the high blood pressure responsible for causing severe itch, irritation and inflammation at the anal area. Patients are advised of keeping the anal area clean by sitting in a warm water bath tub for 15 min for 4 to 5 times in a day.

There are various treatments available in the market and over the internet. Many companies may claim to remove the disorder completely but may lead to dissatisfaction or causing it to be more severe. It is advisable to consult a doctor before even trying these remedies. There are mild treatments like creams and herbal tablets available in the market. For more severe internal hemorrhoids it’s advisable to have them removed by different treatments like sclerotherapy, rubber band litigation, electrotherapy, laser therapy, Doppler guided hemorrhoidal artery litigation and even removing the hemorrhoids manually through a surgery by a doctor.
