Bleeding Hemorrhoids

Who knows better than people suffering from hemorrhoids, how it feels when the bleeding hemorrhoids pain when they are at office or at a public place? This urban disorder has been quite rampant for past few years and has been on an increase because most of the people who are suffering today do not really know as to how it is caused. There has always been a lack of awareness among general people about the disease. The treatment at times becomes difficult when the patient doesn’t realize the onset of this medical problem.

Hemorrhoids are swollen masses of tissues containing the veins connecting the anus with the rectum. These are caused chiefly by hard stool and high blood pressure. Hard stool is formed when dietary care is not taken. People these days drink less of water or fluids which keep the tissues and the stool soft. There is also a severe lack of roughage and fibers in the diet because people do not prefer eating vegetables and fruits; instead they like to eat all sorts of junk food, excessive hard alcohol and smoking.

Alcohol and smoking also increase the blood pressure of human beings which causes severe itching and inflammation of the hemorrhoids. These days the blood pressure is on the rise not only because of smoking but also because people do not pay enough attention to proper sleep and rest. People working with companies are so much involved in to their work that not only they bring the office work to home but also do not take adequate hours of sleep which induces high blood pressure which is another precursor of hemorrhoids.

Hemorrhoids are of several types. Initially they can be either internal or external ones or both, depending on their location with respect to the anal opening. Later on the internal hemorrhoid may come out and join with the tissue outside causing a lot of pain. Even the external hemorrhoid can join with the inner sphincter muscles responsible for contraction and relaxation of the anus, forming another type known as strangulated hemorrhoid.

The hemorrhoids if not given medical attention may turn severe and start bleeding. Nothing could be as embarrassing as bleeding hemorrhoids. People suffering from the disease are scared to imagine bleeding ones when they are out of their houses. A person could be at the office, or on a stroll at the garden in the evening, at the kid’s school, out for a party or anywhere but this bleeding can happen at any point of time.

The main reason for bleeding is that the tissue in which the veins (the ones which connect the rectum and the anus) are embedded may get strangulated. There are fissures accompanied with bleeding hemorrhoids. These fissures are nothing but skin cut due to hard stool caused by drinking less water or eating too spicy food. The inner lining of the anus is a mucous membrane which is delicate and absorbs the nutrients, in this disease get ruptured leading to eventual bleeding. Nowadays adult diapers are available which could be used to avoid embarrassment caused by bleeding hemorrhoids.
